My first visit to Australia was in May 2004 and it was a short visit for three days only. I had already received my Australian PR but at that time I was working in London. During my first visit I liked Australia, nice and clean, friendly people, great sense of humour, open minded, not worrying or whinging like poms back in the UK. (Yes I do like UK people too)

It’s been more than three years now that I’ve been here in this country and I have more “gora” (white) friends than “desis” (Indians). In August I celebrated my birthday and more than 20 people turned up and none of them were Indians (I had invited my Indian mates also).

To all new Indians coming to Australia: AUSTRALIA IS NOT INDIA!

What you do in India won’t work here in Australia. You have to change your ways if you want to live and prosper/succussed in this country.

Change:

1. Way you dress

2. Way you think

3. Way you speak

4. Way you eat

5. Way you behave

6. Way you travel

7. Even the way you shit!!! (Remember Indian toilets?)

Talk to locals, they won’t bite you.

Most Indians drink, so go to pubs with your mates talk and mingle with locals. (but not in the Indian way)

 Dress smart.

 If your English is not good then join an English course. My spoken English was pathetic when I first went to London but I worked hard on it and now I am doing well. No Pain No Gain!

Remember: Australia is a free country, free society

No one is telling you what to do what not to do, no one asking to change your religion or leave your culture, no one is asking you to become like westerns, no one is asking to leave your traditional values.

 All that’s required is for you to change your: ATTITUDE and THINKING!

Look fwd to seeing you there

Well I’ve spent months trying to get  ininaussie up and running when really I had the ability to do it all along. There was so much advice on what to do and what not to do that I started going around in circles. I have a logo which looks pretty cool (it’s that globe thing, see above) but trying to get it to fit is problematic. I also can’t get this thing to be green and white like the logo. I got help from friends but they became busy with other things. I tried to ditch this Wordpress format which is quite easy to use but then it was too difficult and time consuming to use the other web page program.

SO TO HELL WITH IT. I’m just going to Blog and I hope you’ll help me.

I have a few topics posted above and I would love your input. ininaussie already has a lot of followers on Twitter and we have a Facebook site but that’s quite small. I need to get some traffic generated and I’d love to hear your ideas. Right now I’m at zero population. Let’s see what happens and what we can achieve.

Here’s something you might like to comment on: I was told by a close friend today that Australia has cut back on 457 visas i.e. skilled migration by 40 percent! One expert I know said it’s the worst it has been since 9/11.
